USING THE GENIUS IN THE ROOM TO CHANGE THE ROOM!
This day-long workshop co-sponsored by the Independent Curriculum Group and St. Mark's School will bring together Directors of Innovation and other educator leaders to share, learn, and work together to make innovation more than just a buzzword in our schools. Here are some questions we might consider:
Our goal is to share the ways we infuse the term “innovation” with meaning and to use the collective expertise and experiences of our colleagues to gain practical ideas and to be inspired.
We will be joined by Tim Fish, NAIS Chief Innovation Officer, and Meghan Cureton, Director of the Innovation Diploma program at the Mount Vernon Institute for Innovation within Mount Vernon Presbyterian School. Tim and Meghan will lead plenary sessions to kick off our program, then participants will break into groups based on what they bring into the room. Each participant will be asked at Registration what they hope to make, learn, share, or do during the day, and we will use this information to guide programming for the afternoon sessions. Schools will be encouraged to send groups of administrators and teachers to join this conversation and workshop.
